Comorbid somatic conditions among older patients with major mental illness: A retrospective inpatients study.

Introduction Psychiatric admissions of elderly subjects with mental disorders is a difficulty in management and treatment. This problem essentially related to somatic comorbidities this population. Objectives To compare the demographic characteristics, comorbid conditions functional status younger older individuals major illnesses admitted psychiatry. Methods Using records patients between 2015 2020 psychiatric department "G" Razi Hospital, we collected impairments for psychiatry aged over 65 years. We compared these characteristics those total population patients. Results The study consisted 75 Compared youngest there was greater male majority, higher rate severe cognitive impairment, rates chronic medical illnesses, such as congestive heart failure. Conclusions Our findings suggest an urgent need integrated care illness. Future research needed adapt evidence-based models collaborative health care. Disclosure Interest None Declared
